A mechanic-turned-dealer on a mission to help people find affordable, reliable cars they can trust.
Back in 2001, our founder started turning wrenches. Day after day, year after year, he worked on every make and model you can imagine — from beat-up work trucks to luxury sedans. He learned every sound an engine shouldn't make, every sign of hidden damage, every trick sellers use to hide problems.
But something kept bothering him. Too many good people were showing up at the shop with cars that should never have been sold to them. Single moms with transmission failures just weeks after purchase. Young couples with "clean" cars hiding flood damage. Hardworking folks who saved for months, only to buy someone else's nightmare.
"I kept asking myself: why doesn't anyone protect these people before they buy? Why do they only find out the truth when it's too late?"
The truth was simple — most buyers don't know what to look for. Auctions won't tell you a car's real history. And dealerships? Half of them don't know what's under the hood, and the other half find out too late. They just clean it up and hope for the best.
Dealers started calling for help. "Can you check out this car before we buy it?" "Is this one worth bidding on?" He became the guy who kept dealerships from making expensive mistakes.
In 2012, after years of helping dealers avoid bad buys, it hit him: why not cut out the middleman and help regular people directly? Why should his expertise only benefit dealerships when everyday families needed it even more?
That's when Piedmont Auto Group was born. Not as another used car lot trying to make a quick buck, but as something different — a place where a mechanic's trained eye protects every single customer.
Today, every vehicle on our lot has passed the same inspection we'd do for our own family. We attend auctions nationwide and hand-pick only the cars worth buying. If we wouldn't drive it home to our own family, it doesn't make it to our lot.
These aren't just words on a wall — they're the principles that guide every decision we make.
Every vehicle we sell is one we would put our own family in. No exceptions.
With over two decades of hands-on experience, we know exactly what to look for.
We started this business to help people, not just sell cars.
We serve our neighbors with the same care we give our own family.
We're not your typical used car lot. Here's what sets us apart from the rest.
Our founder has over 20 years of hands-on mechanical experience inspecting vehicles.
We hand-pick vehicles from hundreds of auctions across the country to find the best deals.
No car hits our lot without passing a thorough mechanical inspection first.
